Lou Ann Kerner
Miller City – Lou Ann “Louise” “Oodie” Kerner, 84 of Miller City died Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the Meadows of Leipsic. She was born April 26, 1939 in Miller City to the late Leo and Clara (Wallen) Steffen. On November 15, 1958, she married John Kerner, who preceded her in death November 15, 1991.
She is survived by two children: Ted (Marilyn) Kerner of Delphos and Jolene Kerner of Leipsic; a daughter-in-law, Frances Kerner of Fort Jennings, and a son-in-law, Jerry Hart of Pandora; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Steve Kerner; her daughter, Cindy Hart; and two siblings: Dolores Meyer and Eugene Steffen.
Oodie was a member of the Leipsic Eagles where she served as past auxiliary treasurer and had been a bartender for more than 40 years. She loved sprint car racing. Oodie was fun loving, ORNERY, and always ready for an adventure.
The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Miller City, with Fr. Scott Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 26 from 2 to 8 p.m. with a vigil service beginning at 7:45 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic.
